Check out Meet Me In Montauk by Signalrunners. Earlier this year at club Pacha in NYC, Above & Beyond played this and launched a burst of white mist onto the dancefloor right as the crescendo came to a climax around the 4:20 mark.

I have a confession to make: I love Mat Zo. His mixes never cease to amaze… “Silver Lining (Tell Me) (Myon at Albion Vocal Mix),” “Moonset,” and “Rush” are just a few examples of his other killer tracks. But his remix of Signalrunners‘ Recoil is currently at the top of my list. (And Signalrunners alone are probably within my top 10 trance artists).

Halfway Love (Original Mix) by Cedric Gervais & Second Sun is a trance track highlighted by a deep and driving beat, mixed-era synths and male vocals that carry you from on measure to the next.
Dive into the track at the 1:00 mark.

This deep trance track shouldn’t be played too early in the set – make sure people are already moving, then queue up Halfway Love (Original Mix). Although it’s not particularly upbeat or a sing-along song, don’t be surprised if strangers start dancing to its driving beat. As always, read the mood of the dancefloor, and make sure to transition out before any signs of energy drain sets in from repetition.

These Shoulders (Club Mix) by Signalrunners feat. Julie Thompson is a deep trance track and excellent addition to any rave. Signalrunners lays down melodious synths and piano, which Julie Thompson accentuates with melodic, syrupy vocals. Tune in at the beginning to start moving or at 1:30 to begin where the climax starts building.

Depending on your friends, a sober crowd might find These Shoulders (Club Mix) too cerebral to dance. Queue this track up when your dancefloor has been rolling for at least an hour and a half.

“Electronic music” is an umbrella category that includes over 100 genres, including Ambient, Breakbeat, Dance, Nu Disco, Electronica, Garage, Hardcore, House, Industrial, Jungle/Drum and Bass, Techno and Trance. Many of these genres have dozens of subgenres. Trance alone can be broken down into Acid Trance, Dream Trance, Hard Trance, Progressive Trance, Vocal Trance and others.
I don’t claim to be a jack-of-all-electronic-music-trades. Thus, I will only focus on the genres I know best: Dance, House, and Trance. Below is a short description of each subgenre this blog will focus on within those three genres. (The descriptions come from Wikipedia).

I love electronic music. But it’s damn hard to find. I started this blog to share my knowledge of Dance, House and Trance music to make your life easier.
My vow to you is this: I will only feature songs truly worthy of a crowded dancefloor. Now let’s get started and let the booty-shaking begin!
